About Robert’s
Robert’s Alteration has been providing high-quality tailoring and alterations in Los Angeles and Orange County, California since we opened in 1957. We’re a multi-generational, family-owned and operated business that has built a strong reputation in the region for providing expertly tailored garments at exceptionally affordable prices.
My father opened his first store over 45 years ago in West Los Angeles. His goal for the business was to provide meticulous tailoring for his customers. He worked delicately on each project to ensure that he made alterations that would provide a perfect fit for his customers.
As my father’s repeat customer base grew along with his reputation for fine tailoring in the community, working as a one-man shop grew to be difficult. Soon, the demand grew so great for his services that he began to seek assistance from other family members.
Before taking over the family alteration business, I worked as my father’s apprentice. I studied the way he measured customers for the most comfortable fit possible and I learned how he delicately placed stitches in the garments to ensure that the quality would last.
